Today, let’s get right to the point. I love sweet breakfast treats in the morning. They just leave me feeling so happy.
In fact breakfast in general is just one of my favorite things to make.
Now take this Orange Cream French Toast Bake. I am not going to lie. It is amazing!! It is a burst of citrus to brighten up your day!
The fresh orange flavor of this french toast, combined with the creamy goodness of the cream cheese reminds me of a creamscicle. It’s like having a creamscicle for breakfast! Isn’t that cool!
Do you see the bits of orange rind in the center of the french toast? And the scrumptious crumb and icing on the very tippy top?
Oh yeah, all of that just adds to the yummy factor of this fabulous breakfast treat!!
And I didn’t even mention yet how incredibly easy this french toast bake is to make! It starts with Pillsbury Orange Rolls so you can make it in a snap. And why is this french toast instead of a coffee cake you may wonder? Well, it’s because there is an egg mixture poured over the top that makes this more the consistency of french toast rather than cake.
With it’s orange, creamy goodness, I guarantee you are going to love this yummy breakfast treat!!

Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 2 cans (13.9 oz each) Pillsbury® refrigerated orange flavor sweet rolls with icing (8 rolls each)
- 5 eggs
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. orange marmalade
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 2 t. orange juice
- 1 egg
- 2 TBLS Butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 TBLS orange peel
- 1 TB orange juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Pour melted butter in the bottom of a 9x13 dish. Cut up each roll into 8 pieces and spread them evenly in the bottom of the dish, reserving the icing for later.
- Whisk together eggs, cinnamon, marmalade and milk in a medium bowl and pour evenly over the roll pieces.
- In a medium mixing bowl, mix the cream cheese, sugar, orange juice and egg and pour over the egg mixture, spreading evenly.
- In a medium bowl, using a fork, cut the butter into the sugar, flour, peel and juice until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle over the top of the cream cheese layer.
- Place in the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 and bake another 10 - 15 minutes, or until the center is set and no longer jiggles and the sides have turned slightly brown.
- Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack. Meanwhile, take the reserved icing and place in the microwave for approximately 10 seconds. Pour over the top of the french toast. (I only used one of the tubs of icing). Slice and serve.

Deb says
Amazingly good. Summed up best by my son’s reaction of “I want you to feed me this for breakfast, lunch & dinner every day for the rest of my life”. As a teenage boy who swims two hours a day on a swim team, I think his metabolism can handle this dish. Mine on the other hand, cannot, so I’ll just envy him as he eats in front of me! I will also plan to make for special occasions and I’ll indulge then. Thanks for the great recipe!
