Hi, How in the world do you get the dough to roll out with the Pan de polvo cookies. I can pull the dough together after mixing but I can’t get it to roll out without it crumbling. I would also like to ask why it has to sit for 1 hour when it is already at room temp. I appreciate any and all the help you can give me. Are you on u tube with this recipe? I sure would love to see you make these. Do you shape into balls of dough after the hour wait?
Hi, It’s me again. Am I missing any liquids or eggs? I prefer not to make Pan de Polvo with the tea. However, I thought maybe your recipe was missing a liquid . I notice other recipes call for the tea. I had a recipe a long time ago and it didn’t have tea. It did however have eggs. I lost it some how and your recipe is so similar. I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I did try making it with 6 cups of flour, 1 cup of sugar, 3 cups of Crisco, one egg and the canela. I had to pound the balls down and it took forever. I sure would like to just roll the dough. Please help me solve the problem. Thank you Christine. Please consider going on u tube. It would be so wonderful if you could.
Hey Christine, thank you so much for all your inquiries. I am not yet on Youtube with this recipe though i am going to do that soon. (probably over the summer). Really the key to this recipe is the part where you use your hands to just keep squeezing the dough together until it gets all soft and pliable. I mean for a LONG time. If it is not coming together it is most likely because you have not “squished” it together enough. This recipe does not require an egg and it doesn’t require any liquid. And it is a really good question why it needs to sit for an hour. I will ask my husband’s aunt who gave me and taught me to make this recipe. When I make a video about the technique, I will be sure to email you to let you know!! 🙂
